2023 European Young Rheologists Symposium Best presentation Award: Athanasios Kordalis

Athanasios Kordalis a Ph.D. candidate of the Department of Chemical Engineering of UPatras received the best presentation award in the first European Young Rheologists Symposium organized by the European Society of Rheology and hosted by the Italian Society of Rheology between 8-9 of May 2023.

Athanasios is a Chemical Engineer, who conducts his doctoral research in the Laboratory of Fluids Mechanics & Rheology (the Fluids Lab). His research is associated with the rheological modeling and the computational simulation of the interaction of gaseous bubbles in gels that exhibit thixo-elastoviscoplastic response.

The title of his presentation in the first European Young Rheologists Symposium is:

Hydrodynamic Interaction of Unequal Coaxially Rising Bubbles in Elasto-visco-plastic Materials

EYRS was born for young rheologists to present their activities, share experiences, and extend their research network. It is an opportunity to freely share ideas and get suggestions from senior mentors who will moderate the discussions. EYRS 2023 constitutes the 1st edition and is organized by The Italian Society of Rheology (SIR) and The European Society of Rheology (ERS). EYRS is specifically dedicated to young rheologists: MSs Graduates, PhD Students and Postdoctoral Researchers (max 2 years after PhD).
